Palace of Ferdinand Cheval is located in the French town of Auterive. Its creator was the usual postman. During the construction of his “ideal palace”, Ferdinand Cheval use simple tools. The materials used wire, cement and stones, with an unusual shape, which he collected during 20 years on the road in the vicinity of the city. This is a beautiful and unusual building is a prime example of naive art (primitive style offshoot). In 1975, the Palace of Ferdinand Cheval, was officially recognized by the French Government a monument of culture and history.
